No one was hurt after a fire started on the porch of a Henderson County home on Monday morning. It happened just after 6 a.m. at a home along Holly Hill Road in the Mountain Home area. Firefighters said the blaze was contained to the front porch and did not spread into the home. The fire was out within 30 minutes. The fire marshal determined that failure to properly extinguish smoking materials was the cause of the fire. One lane of traffic at the intersection of Howard Gap Road was blocked while crews were on scene. The roadway has since reopened.
