Firefighters were busy battling a 3-alarm fire at an apartment complex in Hickory early Wednesday. The flames broke out just after 4:30 a.m. at the Westminster Park Apartments on North Center Street. Dozens of firefighters were called to the scene, including some volunteer departments, to help get the fire under control. Channel 9 reporter Dave Faherty was at the scene and said officials told him the fire started inside one of the units. Nobody was hurt but several units suffered damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
