President Donald Trump made two stops in New Bern Wednesday morning – Temple Baptist Church and North Craven Street - part of a two-state tour of Hurricane Florence areas.
After flying into Cherry Point air station for a morning press briefing, his motorcade traveled 20-plus miles to New Bern, greeted by wavers and watchers who were stopped in the Eastbound lane of U.S. 70.
At Temple Baptist, he was greeted by New Bern Mayor Dana Outlaw; Terry Hall, site commander for Baptist Disaster Relief and Jim Pennington, senior pastor of Temple Baptist Church.
Trump then joined relief workers in handing out pre-packaged meals which were stacked high on a table in the parking lot. He was joined in handing out meals by Gov. Roy Cooper.
Trump greeted motorists who drove slowly through a throng of media, secret service and onlookers.
