Fargo names 5 finalists for assistant city administrator

PHOTO: Five finalists have been picked from a pool of 33 applicants to be interviewed for the job of Fargo assistant city administrator. The finalists chosen by a selection committee and who have accepted invitations for interviews are: Michael Brethorst, assistant city administrator in Melrose, Minn.; Steven Dirksen, fire chief for the city of Fargo; Dan Mahli, community development administrator for the city of Fargo; Kimberlai A. Moore Sykes, human resources director for Sibley County, Minn.; Michael Redlinger, former Moorhead city manager. The selection committee, which is comprised of City Commissioner Melissa Sobolik, City Commissioner Dave Piepkorn, Civil Service Commissioner Kurt Losee, Civil Service Commissioner Michael Wenaas and City Administrator Bruce Grubb, will conduct public interviews with the candidates on Friday, June 3 in the Fargo City Commission Room. The process will start at 8 a.m. with a welcome, followed by interviews beginning at 8:15 a.m. As part of the interview process, candidates will engage in a mock press conference, a simulation of what the job entails and a panel interview. All portions of the process are open to the public.
