A family of six was killed in a fire that destroyed a house early Thursday in rural Cass County, Nebraska.
The Nebraska State Fire Marshal's Office said it could not provide a specific number of deaths. But a family member confirmed to KMTV Channel 3 that the people who were killed are Mike and Michelle Speer and their daughters Ellie, Addalin, Emma and Aniston.
The fire was reported after 12:05 a.m. at 10014 McKelvie Road, which is about six miles northeast of Weeping Water.
A neighbor who reported the fire told a 911 operator that people were in the house at the time.
Deputy State Fire Marshal Adam Matzner told the World-Herald News Service that the house was engulfed in fire and flames were coming from every window when firefighters arrived.
