VIDEO: Grand Forks is searching for a new fire chief for the first time in decades. Chief Peter O'Neill will retire in January after forty-five years with the department, nearly half of them as chief. O'Neill wants to spend more time with family. The mayor will select an interim chief to lead the department. "There will be an internal and external review of the candidates but we're going to wait until after the holidays," said City Administrator Todd Feland. The city administrator says it's the mayor who will have the final say on who gets the job. A decision is expected by April.
