The City of Minot has received a $5,000 Hess Corporation grant and an $8,000 grant from the Minot Area Community Foundation to provide realistic fire extinguisher training to Minot residents. The new system is known as BullEx, a digital fire extinguisher training system, according to a press release from the city. The system is small and portable and is designed to function exactly like an active fire, with tools that function like a fire extinguisher. “It works like a video game,” says Fire Marshal Brian Andersen in the press release. “The animated flames are life-like and the artificial smoke can fill a room. It’s great we managed to receive the funds to have this handy for the community.”
