More than 100 kids will get brand new coats this winter thanks to the Omaha Professional Fire Fighters Association. Fire union members visited Howard Kennedy Elementary School Friday morning to fit kids with the coats that were purchased with $4,000 in donations. It's all part of the firefighters' annual 'Operation Warm,' which has helped keep kids toasty in the metro for the last four years. "They're so happy to get something new, they're so happy to receive it from a firefighter," union member Trevor Towey said. Towey says the group works with Omaha Public Schools to make sure the coats are going to the children that need them the most. "It's also great to be out in the community and see them wearing the coat, and you can say, 'hey, I made a difference in that kid's family,'" Towey said.
