PHOTO: A semi-tractor was destroyed by fire Tuesday along U.S. Highway 30 south of Blair. Blair Fire and the Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to the blaze just after 2 p.m. near County Road 26. The westbound semi-tractor was fully engulfed on the shoulder of the road. Small explosions could be heard as the tires burst from the heat. A logo on the trailer said it belonged to Grand Island Express, a refrigerated cargo carrier. The trailer was carrying meat. Firefighters doused the fire within minutes of their arrival. The fire was contained to the semi-tractor, Blair Fire Chief Heath Reyzlik said.
