VIDEO: The state fire marshal is investigating why one Hall County home burned to the ground Thursday. Cairo Fire Department was called to the 10000 block of West Capital Avenue just after 2 p.m. A neighbor from a couple of miles down the road spotted the smoke and drove to the home to make sure no one was inside, before calling in the fire. By the time crews arrived on scene, the roof had already collapsed with flames engulfing the house. "Unfortunately, out in the country, when we do get the call the house is usually engulfed by the time we arrive on scene, just depending on the heat source and the fuel source," said Joe Grabowski, assistant Cairo fire chief.
