Two civilians waited quietly Thursday for their names to be called in an auditorium full of Omaha firefighters and paramedics being honored for heroic deeds. Jim Mohs, 31, and Nick Liu, 22, each stepped forward to accept his Citizen Lifesaving Award near the end of the ceremony at the Omaha Public Safety Training Center. The men were being honored for helping a teenage co-worker who had collapsed from a heart condition. They were working about 7 a.m. at Champions Run golf course in August 2016 when the co-worker, Devin Safford, stopped breathing and fell face down into a sand trap on the ninth hole.
