VIDEO: On the May primary ballot, there will be five Omaha bond issues to consider. Two of those bond issues would fund Capital Improvement Plan projects for the Omaha Fire and Police departments. The Public Facilities Bond is $39.4 million. It would help pay for two new fire stations. Fire station No. 31 at 25th and L Street would be replaced and a new facility would be built. A second fire station would be built near 72nd and Cass. "The funding of these new fire stations is very important to the citizens of Omaha because it will, in the long run, guarantee uniform response times throughout the city," Mayor Jean Stothert said.
