No one was injured in a triple semitrailer truck crash Wednesday afternoon, but one truck spilled 40 gallons of fuel. As one truck driver tried to turn left from Newberry Access onto Philip Avenue just after 4 p.m., another truck driver attempted to go around him, said North Platte Fire Lt. Jim Einspahr. The truck attempting to pass tore the other truck’s fuel tank, Einspahr said. “And then the third went to go around both of them,” Einspahr said, leading to another crash. He called the crash “just a low-speed accident.” The broken fuel tank spilled 40 gallons of fuel, closing a portion of Newberry Access into the evening as firefighters cleaned up.
