At 8:51 a.m., Monday, the York Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at Nutrition Services at Fourth and Division Avenue. Upon arriving, firefighters found one of the exterior corn dryers burning with yellow smoke filling the area. Natural gas and electricity services were immediately turned off and work began to extract the burned corn. Fire department officials called for more manpower and for the aerial truck to be brought to the scene, in case it would be needed. Traffic control in the area was provided by the York Police Department, with assistance from the York County Sheriff’s Department.
