A barn northwest of Battle Creek is gone after a Wednesday afternoon fire. Battle Creek’s Fire Department was called to a rural residence after a caller said the barn at the home was “fully engulfed.” Firefighters were assisted by Meadow Grove Fire and Rescue and Elkhorn Rural Public Power.
