It was just after 4 a.m. when emergency crews responded to a report of smoke coming in to an upstairs apartment on the 1200th block of East 4th Street in North Platte Monday morning. Units responded, and smoke was discovered in a lower level apartment. North Platte Fire Marshal George Lewis said that there were no injuries, and the smoke stemmed from a cooking accident which was quickly contained. Lewis relayed information from a report given to him, as he was not on scene. Further questions have been directed to the North Platte Police Department. Updates will be made if any new information is received.
