VIDEO: The Red Cross was called in to help three people forced from their home by a fire. They called 911 around 2:30 a.m. when they woke up and smelled smoke, fire officials said. Fire crews found them outside near Seward Street and Northwest Radial Highway. The fire spread up from the basement to the main floor bathroom through a laundry shoot, officials said in a news release later. Firefighters were able to quickly put it out. No one was injured. The fire caused an estimated $6,700 in damage. The cause was under investigation.
