VIDEO: Lightning from a storm passing through Omaha early Tuesday morning sparked a house fire. A neighbor reported the fire around 12:30 a.m. near 25th Avenue and Pierce Street, an Omaha fire battalion chief said. After arriving at the scene, firefighters found flames coming from the roof at the back of the house. They were forced to battle the fire outside the house because the roof started to collapse, officials said. It took firefighters about 20 minutes to extinguish the fire, but they stayed at the scene for several hours, checking for hot spots. No injuries were reported. Neighbors confirmed the house had been vacant for years and firefighters didn't find any evidence that anyone was living there at the time of the fire.
