VIDEO: For the first time in 22 years, Lincoln has a newer, modern fire station that will help improve response time in the city’s Airpark neighborhood. “This facility is literally days away from being able to open,” according to Fire Chief Micheal Despain. Station 11 crew members will move from their current location inside the Lincoln Airport property at 3824 West Luke to their new home at 4600 West Adams Street sometime in July. A special dedication was held Tuesday morning at the new Station 11.Chief Despain considers the new building having better “creature comfort”, meaning better spacing, easier access in and out of the station and better quality of life for firefighters.
