At their quarterly meeting, the Board of Directors of the Elkhorn Suburban Fire Protection District #2 discussed several matters, including plans for a future fire station. The District currently owns Station 77 at 202nd and F Streets and is served by the Omaha Fire Department at that location and at Station 71 in Elkhorn, at 204th and Laramie Road. As the population in the District continues to grow, particularly to the north, the Board has been looking for land to purchase for another fire station. President Bill Black reported that sites that were being considered near 204th and 209th and Fort did not prove viable, so other sites are being considered.
