At the beginning of the Scotts Bluff County Commissioners meeting, Ken Meyer read a note from Mark Masterton, who was also absent from the March 5 meeting. Masterton underwent triple-bypass surgery on Feb. 27 in Colorado and has returned home to recover. The note said he will return to his duties as soon as possible. The main topic for discussion was the county’s emergency reporting contract. Chance Florke, the county’s information systems director, said they had initially looked for a system that would work alongside all the county’s emergency systems but were unable to find one. The county began the year by implementing a system by Zuercher for reporting sheriff and police calls and began looking for another system for the various fire departments that could integrate with Zuercher to prevent duplicate entries.
