Two men were hospitalized after an accident at a trucking firm Tuesday afternoon in Clay Center. Clay Center fire chief Tom Roemmich told Local4 that the men were injured while cleaning out a tanker at Extreme Transfer. Roemmich said the men may have been overcome by fumes from an unknown substance in the tanker. Emergency crews were called to the trucking company about 3:15 Tuesday afternoon and the men were transferred by ambulance to Mary Lanning hospital in Hastings. Emergency radio traffic indicated that at least one of the men was unconscious at the scene. Roemmich declined to say the nature of the injuries or how seriously they were hurt. He also did not reveal the identities of the men injured or their condition at the hospital.
