The head of the Omaha Firefighters Union is on administrative leave, accused of hitting a woman in a bar. The alleged victim said the assault happened Nov. 9 at Tiger Tom’s Pub at 7103 Military Ave. She told police she went to the bar with a friend that evening, when a man she identified as Steve LeClair punched her in the back. The woman said the force of the punch knocked her out of her seat and onto the bar. Mayor Jean Stothert confirmed Wednesday that LeClair was placed on administrative leave on Dec. 21. The alleged victim filed a police report on Tuesday. The Omaha Police Department is investigating LeClair for suspected misdemeanor assault. There has been no decision from city prosecutors about whether they’ll pursue the case, but they’re waiting for police to talk to witnesses at the bar that night.
