There were plenty of somber expressions on drivers’ faces Wednesday night along U.S. Highway 30, just east of Duncan, as they were rerouted after a two-vehicle accident occurred that resulted in one fatality. The accident, which happened a little after 5 p.m., involved a semi-trailer truck and a pickup truck. Columbus Fire Chief Dan Miller, whose department was one of several area agencies that reported to the accident, told The Telegram that one person was pronounced dead on the scene. The name of that individual, as well as other parties involved and the extent of others’ injuries weren’t available or immediately known as of press time on Wednesday night.
