Adams County and the city of Hastings may have an agreement on ambulance services, and it’s a deal both the city and county are happy with.
According to Hastings City Council documents, the deal will take effect on July 1, then it will run for five years ending in June of 2029.
This means that the city will continue to provide ambulance services to all the outlying cities, towns, and villages in the county, and Hastings Fire Chief Brad Starling said he’s happy to have a long term deal in place.
“We’re excited to have a contract that’s gonna last for a few years and be sustainable so that we can focus on other areas of providing EMS service and continue to do a good job for both the city and the county and not have to worry about contract negotiations in the meantime,” Starling said.
