Nashua Fire, police, and AMR Ambulance were dispatched to 6 Cross Street for a reported fire in a multi-unit building on Thursday.
The first Nashua engine arrived on the scene at about 11:20 p.m. and reported smoke showing from the second floor of an occupied multi-unit building.
Fire crews stretched several hose lines, evacuating people and searching the building as other crews attempted to locate the fire.
The fire was located, and the bulk of the fire was knocked down by firefighters quickly, and secondary searches of the building were performed.
Nashua Emergency Management, utility companies, and the American Red Cross were requested to assist crews. An estimated 15 to 20 people were displaced from the building due to fire and smoke conditions. The Red Cross will work to help the displaced people.
