Two families have been displaced after a fire broke out at a Summit apartment building on Thursday night.
The fire was reported at 10:27 p.m. at the 37-family unit building on 20 Constantine Place. The fire was located in a crawl space in the basement, according to Fire Chief Eric Evers.
"Initially, Summit firefighters had difficult accessing the fire due to limited means of egress," explains Evers. "Once crews were able to gain access, they were able to confine the fire to the point of origin. There were no reported injuries to residents or responding firefighters."
The fire was declared under control at 11:37 p.m.
