Firefighters put out a blaze on Prospect Place Tuesday morning. Authorities said a single occupant, an elderly male resident, evacuated safely from the building. The resident was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center as a precaution, the Neptune Township Office of Emergency Management said on Twitter. The fire temporarily closed Route 33 and Bayard Place. The blaze was deemed out at 8:20 a.m. Details on the cause of the fire were not immediately available.
