A driver crashed through several fuel pumps at the Delta Gas Station in Ramsey, striking the building and igniting a large fire, authorities said. Smoke from the blaze on North Franklin Turnpike on Sunday could be seen for more than a mile from the scene. Firefighters from Ramsey, Allendale and Mahwah quickly brought the fire under control, Ramsey Rescue Squad said in a news release. Also responding to the accident, which occurred about 8:45 a.m., was Ramsey Office of Emergency Management, Ramsey Ambulance Corps and Ramsey police. The driver, who suffered minor injuries, was ticketed for driving recklessly, according to News4NY. The only employee at the gas station had stepped away for a bathroom break, according to the report.
