It’s not every day a company comes by and delivers new, expensive and potentially life-saving equipment to the Trenton Fire Department, but when it does happen, it’s a good day.
The Trenton Fire Department has new smoke detectors, gas monitors and carbon monoxide detectors thanks to a contribution from Marathon Pipeline LLC.
The company paid a visit to the department recently and handed over the vital equipment.
All of the gas monitors are loaded with the latest technology and can detect up to six gases. Firefighters recognize the monitors as critical tools for their profession, but can’t ignore the expensive price tag that comes along with them.
The monitors will be carried on department apparatus to assure the first responders of the safety issues surrounding the quality of air in which they are working.
The smoke and carbon monoxide detectors will be installed throughout homes in Trenton by firefighters and will be used as a continuation of Trenton Fire Department's Fire Prevention program.
