The Alamogordo Fire Department responded to a one-story house fire at Texas Avenue and Fourth Street Thursday. AFD Lt. Jerry Ramirez said firefighters responded to the home around 3 p.m. and saw the fire had consumed the whole front porch and half of the house. “It was probably 50 percent of the house that was burned,” Ramirez said. Deputy Chief Jim LeClair said the investigation is still ongoing, but the fire may have started in one of the bedrooms. LeClair said the fire got as far as the attic before AFD extinguished it. He said no one was injured in the fire.
