Ten new firefighters will be sworn in Friday after having successfully completed the 15th Doña Ana County Fire and Emergency Services Firefighter Academy.
The public is invited to attend the graduation ceremony, which will take place in the Commission Chambers of the Doña Ana County Government Center at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26.
Alfred Lujan – a retired battalion chief and current fire academy instructor – will be the guest speaker. The Honorable Magistrate Judge Joel Cano will administer the oaths of office.
Graduating Doña Ana County firefighters are JoAnn Au, Jorge Au III, Kyle Brooks, Cathy Duran, Isaac Gonzalez, Juan Haro and, Victor ‘Jojo’ Mata. Graduating Otero County firefighters are Genesis Dominguez, Frances Ortiz and Andrea Silva.
