Two apartments were destroyed and their occupants displaced in an early morning fire at a complex near Lomas and Wyoming Thursday, according to the Albuquerque Fire Department.
Melissa Romero, a spokeswoman for AFD, said firefighters were called to a 4-plex in a 106-apartment complex on the 1000 block of Marron Circle NE around 7:15 a.m.
Two people had awoken to smoke and evacuated themselves.
“Crews arrived within minutes to find a fully involved apartment fire,” Romero said.
She said firefighters got to work and were able to get the fire under control.
