Firefighters tackled a shed fire at a southeast Albuquerque property early Monday morning. The fire was put out within minutes and nobody was injured, said Albuquerque Fire Department Lt. Albert Herren. Firefighters were called to the blaze on the 800 block of Alvarado SE around 5 a.m. and found a shed behind a house was on fire. They extinguished the flames in less than 5 minutes. “Thanks for the quick action of the Albuquerque Fire Department the fire was contained to the structure of origin,” Herren said. “This fire is under investigation, at this time no additional information is available.” He didn’t say what firefighters believe sparked the fire, but warned residents to keep a water supply nearby when lighting outdoor fires.
