How much risk is your home in for wildfire danger? According to a new study, it’s all about where you live.
The study revealed 3 percent of homes in the southwest are in an extreme fire danger zone. In New Mexico, that number is 6 percent and even higher in Farmington at 8 percent.
In the beauty of nature, it is easy to want to build your house in the middle of it. But the closer you are to nature, the higher risk your home can be for wildfire.
“Yes, we live in one of those areas,” said Farmington Fire Chief Terry Page.
