Acting City Manager Maggie Paluch announced Tuesday night that the City of Alamogordo's insurance company had concluded their investigation into the loss of Kids' Kingdom and will pay an estimated $450,000.
The beloved community park was built by Otero County residents in November 1995. The park, which was built on city property, was handed over to the City of Alamogordo to maintain and in 1995 was valued at $750,000. For 20 years, the wooden playscape remained a favorite for residents to take their children and grandchildren until it caught fire on Sept. 23, 2016.
