Ruidoso’s fire chief submitted his resignation this week after about five months on the job.
Village Manager Debi Lee offered no comment on the resignation, but said that Cody Thetford will be acting fire chief, a position he occupied in 2016 after Harlan Vincent retired as chief and before Orlando Arriola came on board.
Arriola was hired in July 2016, but didn’t assume his duties until September. He was selected after an assessment of six candidates conducted at the end of May 2016, and he came out on top from the process.
