Albuquerque fire officials responded to a fire at the 4000 block of Greene Ave NW near Irving Boulevard and Golf Course Road Thursday morning. AFD spokesperson Melissa Romero said firefighters arrived quickly to find smoke and flames blowing through the second story patio door. One occupant -- and two dogs -- had safely evacuated prior to firefighters' arrival, Romero said. Romero said firefighters entered the home to search for additional occupants and to find the source of the fire. The fire was discovered and extinguished quickly in a bedroom on the second story.
