The Albuquerque Fire Department is looking for suspects in a fire that destroyed 58 vehicles and caused more than $2 million in damages at an apartment complex last March.
Melissa Romero, an AFD spokeswoman, said the cause of the fire is under investigation but they are asking for the public’s help in identifying those believed to be responsible. She said a $1,000 reward is available.
Residents of the Villa Apartments, near Gibson and San Pedro, told the Journal that they saw people throwing fireworks from a balcony toward a carport to the west of the complex in the early morning hours of March 17. Then, they said, the carport started smoldering and was quickly engulfed in flames.
