Authorities say a man is being treated for burns following an explosion in an apartment in southeast Albuquerque. Fire Department spokeswoman Melissa Romero says firefighters were dispatched to an apartment fire at 11:56 p.m. Wednesday at 701 Avenida Cesar Chavez SE. Firefighters arrived within minutes and found that an explosion occurred in one apartment with no fire present. A burned man in his 40s was found a couple of blocks away from the apartment about an hour after the explosion. Romero says nobody was in the apartment when firefighter arrived and that Fire Department investigators are trying to determine the cause of the explosion.
