Good neighbors may have saved a home from burning on Thursday afternoon in Clovis.
Donna Vilandry said she, her husband Bob and her daughter were all at work when a fire started around 4:30 p.m. in their garage on the 2200 block of Country Meadows Drive.
No other person was home at the time.
Bob Vilandry's motorcycle and other items in the garage were damaged in the blaze, but it could have been worse, according to Fire Chief Mike Nolen.
"Probably just within a few minutes it would have been in the attic, and it would have been a complete loss," Nolen said.
Responders were on scene within minutes. But the neighbors didn't wait for help. They flocked to fight the fire with the tools available to them.
