Looking back to the turn of the 20th Century, the Deming Fire Department borrowed a page from its predecessors in welcoming a new pumper truck to the fleet. Firefighters/EMTs were called in to help push the 2017 HME 1,500 gallon Class A pumper truck into the firehouse bay – much like the horse-drawn fire wagons were stored back in the day. The new pumper replaces a truck that has seen 26 years of duty for the local fire department. “We have been needing this purchase for a long time now,” said DFD Chief Raul Mercado.
