A house fire on Thursday evening left one woman in critical condition, according to an Albuquerque Fire Department spokeswoman.
Officer Melissa Romero said firefighters responded to the 1100 block of Yerba SW, near Bridge and Coors, at 3:57 p.m. and found smoke coming from the home.
“Firefighters made entry into the home to search for victims and to extinguish the fire,” she said. “Firefighters discovered a unconscious female in the home and had to carry her to a waiting ambulance.”
Romero said the woman, in her 60’s, was transported to UNMH in critical condition.
