Veteran pilot, journalist, photographer and editor – Robert “Bob” Martin died Saturday in a helicopter crash in Lincoln County.
Martin’s career spans over 40 years, but he had been with KRQE for 20 years plus. According to New Mexico State Police the helicopter Martin was flying went down just outside Corona, N.M. Saturday afternoon.
KRQE reported Saturday evening that the helicopter Martin was flying was the Sky News 13 helicopter.
Martin graduated high-school in Socorro, N.M. and went on to get his degree from Eastern New Mexico University.
Martin is survived by his wife, Marilyn, three brothers and father.
