Low temperatures, high humidity and even some snow overnight helped to keep two wildfires burning near Grants from growing significantly.
Fire officials say both the Diener and Bluewater fires experienced little growth with both estimated at just around 1,000 acres each and all lines currently holding.
Residents living in the following areas remain on pre-evacuation notice: Bluewater Subdivision, Bluewater Acres, Bluewater Village and La Jara Subdivision. People living in these areas have been asked to be prepared to leave at a moment’s notice should an evacuation be ordered.
In the event of an evacuation, a shelter will be set up at Grants High School. The Grants Rodeo Grounds would be used to house livestock.
