Firefighters from Angel Fire, Eagle Nest and the Moreno Valley took to the skies last weekend for a helicopter training ahead of a potentially bad fire season.
According to John Murtagh, Angel Fire director of emergency medical services and fire chief, the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department and the Bernalillo County Fire Department showed up in Angel Fire Saturday (April 7) with two helicopters, mechanics and fields trucks: all the equipment necessary for local firefighters to get familiar with air operations in the event a wildfire breaks out in their county.
