An Albuquerque family is now living with loved ones after a car crash caused a sinkhole in their front yard.
Early Sunday morning, Albuquerque police said a car crashed into a fire hydrant on Painted Rock Drive near Unser and Bob McCannon Parkway. Water from that hydrant created a large sinkhole in front of a home. “I was sleeping and I heard in my sleep a big bang,” said Sylvia Roman. “I woke up for a little bit but then went back to sleep. At 4:30 in the morning, I heard the firefighters ringing the bell to get us out of the house.”
Roman and her family live in the home. She said as soon as firefighters woke her up, she woke her husband up, put on their jackets and ran outside.
