"I don't know if you can describe him in one word," Travis Robinson with the Farmington Fire Department said.
But any effort to do so would result in a positive word when it comes to Lt. Shadd Rohwer.
"His attitude and personality were encouraging. You couldn't be in a bad mood around Shadd," Robinson said. After 19 years with the Farmington Fire Department and a three-year-long battle with cancer, Rohwer passed away last week. He was 44.
"I've never met anybody more genuine than him," Capt. Jacob Crane said.
