Containment on the Stateline Fire in far northeast New Mexico remains at 50 percent, and forestry officials say its acreage has not changed.
The blaze has torched 27,658 acres since it started on around noon on March 8, New Mexico State Forestry Wildfire Prevention and Communications Coordinator said in her latest update Wednesday afternoon.
Of those acres, 16,898 burned on state and private land in New Mexico while 10,750 charred in Colorado and another 10 burned in Oklahoma. Most fire activity is occurring on the western and eastern edges in New Mexico.
