Albuquerque Fire Rescue crews were called out to a fire at a northeast Albuquerque four-plex late Wednesday night. Firefighters arrived on scene near Constitution and Chelwood Park just before 11:30 p.m. to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the building. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames. One apartment was badly damaged, with smoke damage in the adjacent apartments as well. In total, 8 people were displaced and are currently staying with family members. AFR officials say one woman was taken to the hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation. Firefighters were also able to rescue two dogs and one ferret from the four-plex.
